Antique Japanese Meiji Cloisonné Bird & Peony Plate, 12"
A large cloisonné charger from Japan's Meiji period (1868–1912), hand-decorated with two swallows in flight among peonies, roses, and blossom sprays on a deep aqua ground, framed by an intricate geometric lozenge border. The reverse features gilt scrollwork over a turquoise enamel field, matching the fine detailing of the front.
